Hemfer-XT Tablet 10's belongs to a class of drugs called 'hematinics' which is mainly used to treat anemia (lack of blood) caused mainly due to poor diet, poor absorption of food or increased use of folate in the body (in pregnancy). Anemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells to carry required oxygen to various body tissues.

Hemfer-XT Tablet 10's is a combination of two medicines: Ferrous ascorbate (iron supplement) and Folic acid (a form of vitamin B9). Hemfer-XT Tablet 10's works by increasing the production of red blood cells (RBC) and hemoglobin (a protein) in the body. As a result, adequate number of RBCs are produced in the body, providing adequate supply of oxygen to every tissue of the body.

Take Hemfer-XT Tablet 10's as advised by your doctor. In some cases, you may experience vomiting, nausea, upset stomach or dark stools. Most of these side effects of Hemfer-XT Tablet 10's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve with time. However, if side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Hemfer-XT Tablet 10's or any other medicine, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a doctor before using Hemfer-XT Tablet 10's. Hemfer-XT Tablet 10's should be used with caution in children and should only be taken if it has been recommended by a doctor. If you are allergic to any sugars, inform your doctor before taking Hemfer-XT Tablet 10's as it may contain lactose. If you have stomach ulcers, vitamin B12 deficiency, any blood disorder, frequent blood transfusions, ulcerative colitis (inflammation of the colon), pernicious anemia (anemia due to vitamin B12 deficiency) or folate-dependent tumors, inform your doctor before taking Hemfer-XT Tablet 10's.

Directions for Use

Tablet: Take it with or without food as advised by your doctor and swallow it as a whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew or break it. Syrup: Shake the bottle well before using. Take the recommended dose by mouth using the measuring cup/dosage syringe/dropper provided on the pack.
