Mucosys 600mg Tablet is a prescription medicine used in the treatment of respiratory disease with excessive mucus. This medicine helps reduces mucus secretion in various lung diseases such as bronchitis, asthma, and emphysema.
Mucosys 600mg Tablet can be taken with or without food, but take it at the same time to get the most benefit. It should be taken as your doctor's advice. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. Dissolve the tablet in a glass of water and drink it immediately. Take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you.
The most common side effects of this medicine include fever, nausea, vomiting, rash, and gastrointestinal discomfort. If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them. Generally, it is advised to drink plenty of fluids while on treatment with this medicine.
Before taking this medicine let your doctor know if you suffer from asthma, as close monitoring is required while taking this medicine. - Uses / Indications: Acetyl cysteine is used for the treatment of liver toxicity caused by paracetamol overdose. It is also used to thin and loosen the mucus in the airway due to certain lung diseases (bronchitis, pneumonia) and for the relief of dry eye syndromes associated with deficient tear secretion. It acts as mucolytic (loosen mucus in airways) when used in oral preparations while when used as injection it treats paracetamol overdose toxicity.

- Mucosys 600mg Tablet is probably safe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.

- Do not start or continue the acetyl cysteine if you are allergic to acetyl cysteine. Consult your doctor before starting acetyl cysteine if you have lung diseases like asthma and bronchospasm.

- Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Mucosys 600mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

- Mucosys 600mg Tablet is a mucolytic medication. It loosens thick mucus (phlegm) in the nose, windpipe, and lungs, making it easier to cough out. It also works as an antidote in paracetamol poisoning by replenishing the body's stores of glutathione, a chemical that removes toxic substances.
