- Uses / Indications: Fol 123 capsule is a combination of Folic acid, Methylcobalamin and Docosahexanoic Acid (DHA). It is a nutritional supplement for females preconception (when they are planning to conceive), during pregnancy as well as during Lactation. Folic acid is used as a coenzyme for various metabolic processes, synthesis of DNA; it is also involved in some amino-acid conversions. Folate deficiency, will lead to an impaired DNA synthesis and repair. Vitamin B12, a water-soluble vitamin, Mecobalamin is also closely involved with folic acid in several important metabolic pathways. Deficiency leads to the development of megaloblastic anaemias, demyelination and neurological damage and may affect fertility. Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is a long-chain unsaturated fatty acid that is a member of the omega-3 family of fatty acids. Docosahexaenoic acid is predominant structural fatty acid in the central nervous system and retina and its availability is crucial for brain and neuronal development in infants. Recommended dose is 1 capsule a day. Use under medical supervision
