Guide Pm 1 Tablet is used for the management of non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (type 2) as an adjunct to diet and exercise to lower blood glucose. Used in combination with insulin to lower blood glucose in patients whose hyperglycemia cannot be controlled by diet and exercise in conjunction with an oral hypoglycemic agent.
Guide Pm 1 Tablet is a drug that is used on treating patients suffering from type 2 Diabetes, who can't control blood sugar levels through diet and exercise alone. Hence this drug is used to enhance the positive effects of diet and exercise with respect to blood sugar.
It is also used in combination with other antidiabetic medicines. It is a type of sulfonylurea antidiabetic medicine, that helps the pancreas in releasing insulin thus helping reduce the blood sugar level. It belongs to a class of drugs known as sulfonylureas.

Taking pioglitazone with alcohol may affect blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes.
- Pregnancy interaction:
- Guide PM 1 Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

- How it works:
- Guide PM 1 Tablet is a combination of three antidiabetic medicines: Glimepiride, Metformin and Pioglitazone. tThey work by different mechanisms to provide better control of blood sugar when single or dual therapy is not effective. Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea which works by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas in order to lower the blood glucose. Metformin is a biguanide. It works by lowering glucose production in the liver, delaying glucose absorption from intestines and increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin. Pioglitazone is a thiazolidinedione which further increases insulin sensitivity.
