MUCINAC RESPULES is an antidote medication. It is used in the treatment of paracetamol overdose (when you may have taken too much paracetamol medicine). It protects your liver and helps to reduce the extent of the injury.
MUCINAC RESPULES is given as an injection under the supervision of a doctor. It must be injected within 8 hours of paracetamol overdose. It can be given up to 24 hours, but medicine effective slow down when given after 24 hours of dosage overdose. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. Always follow your doctor's advice while taking this medicine.
The most common side effects of this medicine include rash, urticaria, flushing, and itching. If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them.
Before taking this medicine let your doctor know if you suffer from asthma, as close monitoring is required while taking this medicine. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
- Uses / Indications: Acetyl cysteine is used for the treatment of liver toxicity caused by paracetamol overdose. It is also used to thin and loosen the mucus in the airway due to certain lung diseases (bronchitis, pneumonia) and for the relief of dry eye syndromes associated with deficient tear secretion. It acts as mucolytic (loosen mucus in airways) when used in oral preparations while when used as injection it treats paracetamol overdose toxicity.

- MUCINAC RESPULES is probably safe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.

- Do not start or continue the acetyl cysteine if you are allergic to acetyl cysteine. Consult your doctor before starting acetyl cysteine if you have lung diseases like asthma and bronchospasm.

- How to use:
- Use this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Twist off the top of the respule/transpule and squeeze all the liquid into the nebulizer. It should be used right away after opening.

- MUCINAC RESPULES is a mucolytic medication. It loosens thick mucus (phlegm) in the nose, windpipe, and lungs, making it easier to cough out. It also works as an antidote in paracetamol poisoning by replenishing the body's stores of glutathione, a chemical that removes toxic substances.
